The long-haired horses are a specific breed - I"m forgetting the name now. I believe from the Oregon region - don't know if the breed (really a line more than a breed) still exists.
In case you haven't figured out the correlation, I was searching for "Sideshow Poster" and found the 8-Legged and Midget horses, probably had been part of a circus "Sideshow" (Freakshow). Then looking for "Circus Horse" wielded the sidesaddle rider and the two with freakishly long hair.
And yes, Kate is right. The palomino-looking one was on a site for Oregon heritage. His name was Linus, btw.

ReplyDeleteThose are, um, interesting to say the least! I'm not sure what to make of the 8 legged horse, though.

Gees; what's the farrier bill liked for the 8-legged horse? I take it we can still assume it will be lame anytime we want to ride it? ; )
