I am making a show jacket for one of our fellow bloggers. She can "out" herself in the comments if she chooses. There will be a whole post about it when it's finished, but here is just a teaser of how it's coming together...
Hi Pony! Thanks! When I'm not drafting my own patters, I use patterns from Suitability.com. I've been using their patterns for over 15 years.... crap I'm old! For this jacket, I used the 5630 Jacket but I did some adjustments to it. I'll explain more when I do the follow-up post.
:) I have been wondering actually if you would be interested in doing a commission piece. Email me what prices might be, although I know it would vary. :) paint_horse_milo@yahoo.com
very cool!! The only thing I can sew is replacing a button, so the fact that you make all that stuff baffles me! I hope we get to see the finished product!
It's never too late to learn, Laura!!! There is a nice movement towards the home-sewn again and lots of fabric and sewing machine stores are jumping on with beginner classes!
Don't worry, I'll bombard you with photos of the finished product!
Where can you get a pattern for something like that? I would love to try my hand at a shirt or jacket for the teenage girl who bought my horse!
ReplyDeleteThis one is beautiful!
